NARS Publishes ‘2020 Policy Issues for National Assembly Audit of the State Administration’
To substantially support the National Assembly members and their aides in carrying out inspection of state administration, NARS published its ‘2020 Policy Issues for National Assembly Audit of the State Administration’ on Monday, August 10, 2020.

Published since 2009, this annual report selects noteworthy policy issues facing the 2020 National Assembly Audit of state administration and analyzes their current status and major concerns.

This report is divided by standing committees and classified into two section: ‘2020 Policy Issues for National Assembly Audit of the State Administration’ and ‘2019 Inspection of State Administration Corrections and Evaluation of the Results of Corrective Action Processing,’ which includes 844 issues. Included are analysis of 629 current policy issues that require address in 2020 inspection of state administration, and in-depth evaluation of 215 government correction results demanded for in the previous year’s inspection.

This report analyzed policy topics including important and pressing issues in Korea—COVID-19, local government, infectious diseases, platform, small businesses, employment insurance, and untact (contact-free) era—in a balanced way. By evaluating post-inspection correction measures and results, this report attempts to render the inspection not as a formality and one-off but as a dynamic, operative instrument to promote government accountability.

The ‘2020 Policy Issues for National Assembly Audit of the State Administration’ is divided into nine volumes:
- Politics and Administration – Vol. 1 (House Steering Committee, Legislation and Judiciary Committee); Vol. 2 (Foreign Affairs and Unification Committee, National Defense Committee); Vol. 3 (Public Administration and Security Committee)
- Economy and Industry – Vol. 4 (National Policy Committee, Strategy and Finance Committee); Vol. 5 (Trade, Industry, Energy, SMEs, and Startups Committee, Agriculture, Food, Rural Affairs, Oceans and Fisheries Committee); Vol. 6 (Land, Infrastructure and Transport Committee)
- Society and Culture – Vol. 7 (Education Committee; Culture, Sports and Tourism Committee), Vol. 8 (Science, ICT, Broadcasting and Communications Committee); Vol. 9 (Health and Welfare Committee, Gender Equality and Family Committee)

NARS will continue to fulfill its duty to provide professional and active support for parliamentary activities through research and analysis necessary for preparing the inspection of state affairs and increasing quality of legislation and policy.
