NARS Issues a Report Celebrating the Opening of the 21st National Assembl
In celebrating the opening of the 21st National Assembly, NARS published eight reports as follows: ‘The Major Legislative and Policy Issues for the 21st National Assembly,’ ‘Current Status and Improvement Tasks of the Fast-Track Legislative System,’ ‘Making Better Laws Through Legislative Impact Analysis,’ ‘Planning Report for Economic and Industrial Sector,’ and ‘The NARS User Guide.’

Legislative researchers of all twelve research teams at NARS participated in making the report and provided summaries and analysis for ‘The Legislative and Policy Issues for the 21st National Assembly’. The report covers major legislative and policy issues which are expected to emerge in the 21st National Assembly or were at issue in the 20th National Assembly.

‘Current Status and Improvement Tasks of the Fast-Track Legislative System’ observes the current status and necessary improvement tasks of the fast-track legislative system which the 21st National Assembly needs to address.

‘Making Better Laws Through Legislative Impact Analysis’ explains the necessity, effectiveness of the analysis and introduces overseas cases of legislative impact analysis in order to form a consensus for the institutionalization of legislative impact analysis within the National Assembly.

‘Planning Report for Economic and Industrial Sector’ examines major issues in finance, taxation, energy, and construction, inter alia, to revitalize the stagnant economy, with the purpose of publicizing important issues and spearheading the presentation of legislative and policy countermeasures.

‘The NARS User Guide’ introduces NARS, what it does, the services it offers, and the procedures for the employ of those services by/to the members of the National Assembly and their aides. This easy-to-understand-guide shows how NARS supports members of the assembly in translating issue interests into laws.

NARS expects that these reports will help members in realizing the legislative and policy issues and understanding the legislative support services that they can utilize when conducting legislative and parliamentary activities.

The full report is available at the NARS website (www.nars.go.kr) under ‘NARS Publications.’
