 The National Assembly Research Service published its '2018 Inspection Report' and 'Evaluation Report on the Follow-up Actions of 2017 Inspection' in order to actively assist members of parliament and their aides in carrying out inspection of state administration. Each report is divided into three parts—politics and administration, economy and industry, and society and cultures—and each part deals with different standing committees and ministries.

The '2018 Inspection Report,' which was published on August 1, covers 766 different topics addressing issues such as legislations and systems or administrative processes of related administrative offices that need improvements. It also discusses current issues, identifies problems, and suggests solutions considering the current state affairs of major social issues.

The first volume covers topics in politics and administration, such as 'Systematization of Protecting Korean Nationals Abroad', 'Improvement of the Outcome for Operating Government Committees and Measures for Performance Evaluation', and 'Legislative Response to Revolting Expression'. The second covers topics in economy and industry, such as 'Measures to Eradicate Recruitment Corruption in Public Organizations', 'Measures for the US Trade Expansion Act Article 232', and 'Tasks for the New Deal Policies on City Rehabilitation.' The third volume covers topics in society and cultures, such as 'Local Education Autonomy Policy Following Reinforcement of Decentralization', 'Proceeding System of the Fourth Industrial Revolution', and 'Urgent Paradigm Shift of the Policies for Aging Population'.

On September 3, to make more thorough and effective use of inspection of state administration, NARS issued 'Evaluation Report on the Follow-up Actions of 2017 Inspection'. A total of 309 topics are covered in the report. The aim of this report is to track progress in the revisions from last year's inspection of state administration and check if corrections are reflected in government administration. Moreover, the report evaluates the review report of state administration inspection by the administrative branch and offers solutions to existing problems.

The first volume covers politics and administration. Topics analyzed and evaluated include 'Prevention Measure for Slander and False Propaganda', 'Measure for Reinforcing Punishment for Sex Offenders against Minors under the Age of 13', and 'Plans for Increasing Fair Market Price Standard Criteria for Property Tax'.

The second volume covers economy and industry. Topics evaluated include 'Necessity of Improving Accuracy of Prospects on Tax Revenue', 'Establishment of a Research Institute for Fair Trade Policy', 'Expansion of Energy Welfare in the Regions without Access to Gas', and 'Safety Inspection on Roads in Apartment Complex and Its Expansion'.

The third volume covers society and cultures. It reviews and evaluate topics such as 'Comprehensive Measures Related to the Fourth Industrial Revolution', 'Plans for Reinforcing Management and Inspection Regarding Human Resources Supporting Activities of Those Who Are with Impairment', and 'Establishing Measures for Increasing the Wage Level of Youths Working Part-time'.
