On Monday, July 9, NARS, Choi Woon-youl(member of the Democratic Party of Korea), Kim Han-pyo(member of the Liberty Korea Party), and Chae Yi-bai(member of the Bareunmirae Party) co-hosted a forum entitled "Complete Revision of 'Monopoly Regulation and Fair Trade Act', Discuss the Direction".
This forum was held in order to prepare a more meaningful and realistic amendment plan by seeking additional checks on the amendment drafted by the Special Committee for Amendment of the 'Monopoly Regulation and Fair Trade Act'. In this regard, the forum sought to collect extensive opinions from people of all walks of life.
During the opening ceremony, welcoming remarks were delivered by Choi Woon-youl, Kim Han-pyo, and NARS Chief Lee Nae-young. Vice Chairperson of the Fair Trade Commission, Ji Chul-ho, delivered the congratulatory speech. In the session that followed, Kim Jae-shin, Director General of Competition Policy Bureau at Fair Trade Commission, gave a presentation on 'Directions for Complete Revision of the Monopoly Regulation and Fair Trade Act; Outcomes of the Special Committee of Korea'.
Following the presentation, Lee Ho-young(Professor at Hanyang University Law School), Choi Nansulhun(Professor at Yonsei University Law School), Kim Kyung-man(Director General of Policy Development Division, Korea Federation of SMEs), Hong Dae-sik(Professor at Sogang University Law School), Seo Jeong (Lawyer at Hannuri Law), Im Dong-chun(Director of Finance and Fair Trade Team of NARS), and Kim Jong-bo(Lawyer at the Committee of People's Livelihood and Economy in Lawyers for a Democratic Society) actively participated as discussants. The presentation and discussion were moderated by Lee Hwang(Professor at Korea University Law School).
