
On Friday, October 27, NARS and the Asia Future Fin Tech Forum co-hosted an international seminar on ¡®Promotion of the FinTech Industry in Korea¡¯ at the main conference hall of the National Assembly Memorial Hall.
The seminar was held in response to the rapid spread of digital finance including internet banking, mobile finance and cryptocurrencies and to discuss ways to address increasing conflicts between the technology development and financial regulations.
Dr. Lee Nae Young, Chief of NARS opened the seminar with his opening speech which was followed by a welcoming speech by Yoon Seri, Head of the Asia Future Fin Tech Forum. The seminar was carried on in three sessions.
During the first session, Park Suyong (professor at Sogang University, Department of Computer Science and Engineering) gave a presentation on ¡®The Fourth Industrial Revolution and Fin Tech Technologies¡¯, and Ben Hammond (attorney at Ashurst in Hong Kong) discussed ¡®Fin Tech Sandbox in UK¡¯.
Jung Yooshin (head of the Fin Tech Support Center) started the second session with his presentation on ¡®Understanding the Fourth Industrial Revolution and Fin Tech in Finance Perspective¡¯, and Da Hongfei (CEO at Onchain) shared his ideas through his presentation on ¡®The Rise of Block chain in China¡¯.
During the last panel discussion session, Ha Tae Hyung (professor at the University of Suwon) served as a moderator while Kim HyoungJoong (professor at Korea University), Oh Junggeun (professor at Konkuk University), Lee Byungtae (professor at Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology), Henry Kim (CEO at Finotek), Son Doil (attorney at Yulchon), Jung Inhwa (lead examiner at the field innovation center) and Won Chong-hyun (legislative researcher at NARS) actively participated as discussants.
