On January 15, Dr. Lim Seong-ho (Chief of the National Assembly Research Service) gave NARS's policy briefing 2016 to Speaker Chung Ui-hwa.
During the briefing, NARS proposed plans for diversified legislative support services: 1) Increasing the level of satisfaction in responding to requests by expanding the number of research staffs and external experts' counseling, 2) Starting out the evaluation project on the follow-up actions of the oversight of administrative agencies, and 3) Extending legislative impact assessment.
NARS also presented this year's main research agenda including enhancing the roles of the National Assembly for improving inter-Korean relations, and promised to publish reports on that with more expertise and timeliness.
Briefed about NARS's plan, Speaker Chung Ui-hwa requested to keep continuity in the performance of duties by emphasizing the virtue of making the term end well as this year is for wrapping up the 19th National Assembly and opening the 20th National Assembly.
