On February 25, NARS held its first 2015 Advisory Committee meeting in the main conference room.
This Chief's Advisory Committee was developed to provide advice and assistance to the Chief of NARS on matters regarding legislative, policy research, and studies.
Twenty-four members of the committee, including Chairman Ahn Byeong-ok (professor at Kongju National University) and 11 senior staff members took part in this meeting.
Mr. Park Chool-hae (Director General of NARS) reported the plan for 2015. The report was followed by questions and suggestions from the members.
During the meeting, various suggestions and ideas were presented. Among the suggestions were developing stronger legislative research service identity, taking into consideration the scope of work and future direction of NARS, increasing personnel and budget, reinforcing researchers' expertise, and developing a systematic evaluation plan.
Dr. Lim Seong-ho (Chief of NARS) appreciated the committee's comments and said, "We will seek substantiality and stability of the committee and make sure members' opinions are reflected in our 2015 plans."
