Since South Korea’s first confirmed case of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) on January 20, 2020, the number of patients has risen across the region. In response, as a comprehensive research think tank of the National Assembly, NARS now publishes “Current Status and Future Tasks of South Korea's Response System Regarding the Novel Coronavirus (2019-nCoV),” an ongoing report that examines the outbreak’s impact across the country and analyzes countermeasures.
On Tuesday, March 3, NARS held an expert meeting with Shin Hyung-sik (director of the center for infectious diseases at the National Medical Center) on “Responding to COVID-19: Problems and Future Challenges.” As part of 'social distancing' measures to prevent the spread of COVID-19, NARS held this meeting via video-conference.
NARS plans to further publish a comprehensive policy report - a compilation of various policy reports and meetings regarding the COVID-19 coronavirus - in support of the National Assembly Committees and the members so they may better conduct legislative activities. The report will be made available to the public.
