On October 14, NARS held a seminar on "Global Environmental Governance and Northeast Asia Peace Cooperation" at the National Assembly Members' Office Building Seminar Room #1. Dr. Dan Smith, Director of Stockholm International Peace Research Institute (SIPRI), was the eminent invitee. The purpose of the seminar was to discuss global environmental governance and Northeast Asia environmental cooperation and to come up with ideas to establish a peaceful regional order in the rapidly changing landscape of Northeast Asia.

At the seminar, Speaker Chung Sye-kyun attended and offered his idea on the strategy of the National Assembly for resolving North Korea's nuclear issue and promoting Northeast Asia peace cooperation. The seminar was moderated by Dr. Lim Seong-ho (Chief of NARS) and a presentation was given by Dr. Dan Smith (Director of SIPRI). Afterwards, Dr. Choi Ah-jin (Professor, Graduate School of International Studies of Yonsei University), Chu Jang-min (Head, Environmental Policy Research Group of Korea Environment Institute), and You Woong-jo (Legislative Researcher, Foreign Affairs and National Security Team of NARS) took part as panelists and led the discussions.
