
NARS held a seminar titled, "Implementation of UN SDGs and International Development Cooperation, and Legislative Task" at the Small Conference Room #1 in the National Assembly Members' Office Building on November 8. The seminar was hosted jointly with the National Assembly UN SDGs Forum (headed by MP Kwon Seong-dong), Members' Offices of Kim Yong-tae, Kim Se-yeon, and Kwon Mi-hyuk, Korea Association of International Development and Cooperation (President Son Hyuk-sang), Korea Legislation Research Institute (President Rhee Ik-hyeon), and KoFID/KCOC (President Moon Young-ki).
The aim of the seminar was to review progress made in the implementation of UN SDGs in Korea, to discuss on how to enhance the role of the National Assembly in the implementation of SDGs, and to develop related policies and legislative tasks for the successful implementation of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) adopted by the UN in 2015. In his congratulatory address, Speaker Chung Sye-kyun emphasized that "Preparing for future generations of the National Assembly is in line with UN SDGs, and the role of the National Assembly is vitally important for systematic implementation of UN SDGs."
