On November 4, the National Assembly Research Service (NARS) held a commemoration ceremony in the NARS Main Conference Hall, celebrating the 9th anniversary of its foundation.
NARS was founded in November 2007 to establish an independent system for expertise and resources in the legislature, and to respond to the increasing demand for legislative resources. Since its foundation, NARS has achieved successful outcomes in legislative support including responses to 40,000 legislative research requests and publications of more than 1,800 reports.
Key figures including the Speaker of the National Assembly, the Secretary-General, the Chief Librarian of the National Assembly, and the Chief of the National Assembly Budget Office as well as the previous Chiefs of NARS attended the commemoration ceremony to celebrate NARS's foundation and wish NARS's continued growth.
