On August 25, in the NARS Main Conference Hall, NARS held the Employees Open Forum for Violence Prevention.
Since 2014, NARS has been conducting employee training sessions on sexual harassment and comprehensive sexual violence prevention separately from the National Assembly Secretariat. This year, instead of organizing lecture-based training sessions, an open forum was held to increase the participation of the institution's employees.
NARS aimed to achieve a more effective outcome in its harassment prevention training through active employee participation.
In particular, Chief of NARS (Dr. Lim Seong-ho) personally served as moderator and encouraged employee participation and discussions. Afterwards, legislative research officers/in-office sexual harassment counselors Lee Jung-jin (Political and Parliamentary Affairs Team), Choi Ji-hyun (Finance and Fair Trade Team), and Cho Joo-eun (Health, Welfare, Family and Gender Equality Team) each presented and shared their experiences and perspectives on sexual harassment and prevention. The floor was then opened for Q&A and further discussion.
Overall, NARS employees responded favorably to this modified open forum-based training and hoped for a better organization.
