On February 25, NARS held its first Advisory Committee meeting to set key initiatives for 2014. The committee consists of twenty-seven renowned scholars from different legislative and policy research institutes and on this day 15 committee members shared their views on the future direction of NARS.

Dr. Koh Hyun-wook, Chief of NARS, recounted NARS's performance of 2013, and described how NARS has grown. He also reported the plan for 2014, which focuses on convergence and field studies. Dr. Koh's speech was followed by presentations of each research office on plans to conduct sophisticated research analysis, discuss NARS's role in preparing for Korea unification, study ways to improve system for revitalizing midsized companies and small manufacturers.

Committee members highlighted NARS's proactive role as the research arm of the National Assembly and gave advice on fostering NARS subcommittees, recognizing the need for materialization and differentiation and revitalizing the social networking system.

Dr. Koh appreciated the advisory committee's analysis and recommendations and said that the members' opinions will be reflected in the 2014 plans.
