On February 11, NARS held an expert group meeting on cost-benefit analysis. The seminar was held to help researchers improve their understanding of cost-benefit analysis and to strengthen the system of legislative checks and balances of executive discretion.

Yoo Seung-hoon, professor at the Graduate School of Energy and Environment of Seoul National University of Sciences and Technology, introduced cost-benefit theory and various case studies. The three-hour meeting covered basic theory and analysis, pre-feasibility survey system, and basic principles and practices of cost estimation. More than 30 researchers participated in the meeting and ensuing in-depth discussion. A second expert group meeting was held on Tuesday, February 18, 2014.
