On December 3, a delegation from the Parliament of Mongolia visited NARS to learn about its institution. The delegation was led by Chairperson of the Standing Committee on State Structure, Ms. Burmaa, and Chairperson of the Petitions Standing Committee, Mr. Bakei.

This visit was organized for the Petitions Standing Committee of the Parliament of Mongolia, which was newly established in March. The delegation particularly was interested in Korea's legislative process and the roles of the National Assembly.

During their meeting, the delegation was briefed on the roles and functions of the NARS and had a discussion on ways of dealing with the vast landscape of research, how the legislature conducts oversight of the executive branch and details of the National Assembly Research Service regulations.

The National Assembly Research Service has signed a MOU with the Secretariat Research Center of State on December 7, 2010. Since then the two institutions established a close relationship and were able to share data and ideas. The delegation from Mongolia has regularly participated in the NARS International Seminar for Parliamentary Research Services. Based on its productive meeting with the delegation, NARS expects to further consolidate its relationship with Mongolia and hopes that their visit to NARS has helped in developing the new Petitions Standing Committee.
