NARS Co-hosts Seminar on ¡®Issues and Challenges for Virtual Currency Regulation¡¯
 On Thursday, February 8, NARS and members of the National Policy Committee, Reps. Lee Hack-young (member of the Democratic Party of Korea), Kim Han-pyo (member of the Liberty Korea Party), and Park Sun-sook (member of the Bareunmirae Party), co-hosted a seminar on ¡®Issues and Challenges for Virtual Currency Regulation¡¯ at the main conference hall of the National Assembly Research Service.

The seminar was held in response to wild price swings in virtual currencies, which has caused wide public concern, especially among regulators and investors. To evaluate the current overheating of the virtual currency market and to discuss the major issues and future tasks for regulating the market, Offices of the Vice Chairpersons of the National Policy Committee from both the ruling and opposition parties and NARS co-hosted the seminar.

During the opening ceremony, National Assembly speaker Chung Sye-kyun delivered the welcoming speech, with vice chairpersons of the National Policy Committee Lee Hack-young, Kim Han-pyo, and Park Sun-sook delivering congratulatory speeches.

In the first session, Kim Hyoung Joong (professor at Korea University) gave a presentation on ¡®The Principle of Cryptocurrency Regulation¡¯, and Won Chong-Hyun (legislative researcher at NARS) discussed ¡®Legislative Tasks for Investor Protection¡¯.

In the second session, Kim Ki Heung (professor at Kyonggi University) moderated a lively discussion of several experts: Park Sunjong (professor at Soongsil University), Sean Shin (CEO at DAYLI Financial Group), Oh Jung Geun (professor at Konkuk University), Lee Youngwhan (professor at Cha University), and Kang Young-soo (head of the cryptocurrency response team at the Financial Services Commission (FSC).
