Summary: This brief examines the current state of the in-home care service under the In-house Care Assistance Act, and illustrates its political improvement plans from perspectives of supporting organizations, supporting manpower, and the service users. The brief provides suggestions to improve the quality of in-home care services, including systematic management of supporting organizations, betterment of labor conditions based on the current state of supporting manpower, and settlement of inconveniences for service users.

Summary: The system of accreditation of work experience as public officials is a system for those who have working experiences as public officials to get exempted from taking qualifying examinations for patent attorney, tax accountant, or judicial scrivener, etc. Because of potential issues with the system - such as breach of the right to equality, violation of freedom of occupation, and privileges for ones' former post - the report presents improvement plans based on examples of legislation of other countries.

On June 20, 2014, the National Assembly Research Service (Chief: Koh Hyun-Wook) held a joint seminar with the National Finance Research Forum (Representative: Na Seong-lin), which is a research organization of members of the National Assembly, and the Korean Academic Society of Taxation (President: Jung Kyu-eon) at the National Assembly Members' Office #1 Conference Hall.
This seminar examined the proper direction and aim for the tax policy considering recent economic and social trends prior to deliberation of the revised tax bill in a regular session of the National Assembly.
Professor Oh Moon-sung of Han yang Women's University presented on 'The Direction of Tax Policy for the Medium and Longer Term and a Desirable Tax Law Revision in 2014'. This was followed by a presentation on 'The Income Tax, Estate Tax and Gift Tax Law Revisions and the Policy Directions', co-presented by Professor Park Hun of the University of Seoul and Attorney Kang Nam-kyu.
The following people participated in the subsequent discussion session: Lee Man-woo, member of the Saenuri Party; Hong Jong-haak, member of the New Politics Alliance for Democracy; Kim Jae-jin, Head of the Research Group for Taxation of Korea Institute of Public Finance; Kim Kab-soon, Chief of Korean Taxpayers United; Moon Hee-soo, editorial writer of the Korea Economic Daily; Moon Chang-yong, official at the Tax Policy Bureau of the Ministry of Strategy and Finance; and Kim Ki-heung, Head of the Economy and Industry Research Office of the National Assembly Research Service.
