On April 15, NARS held a seminar on Legislation and Policy Studies. Legislation and Policy Studies is a biannual academic journal which was first published in December 2009. It was established in order to reinforce academic cooperation with outside experts. The journal contains in-depth articles regarding legislation and policy issues. The seminar was held to discuss ways to publish well written thesis in the upcoming journal (Volume 6, Issue 1) which will be published on June 30, 2014.

During the first session of the seminar, issues on economy and society were discussed. The second session dealt with politics and administration. Each seminar opened with a keynote speech and was followed by panel and general discussion. Papers entitled ¡®Financial Disputes between Financial Institutions and Their Customers¡¯ and ¡®Analysis on the Controversy over the Legislative System on Academic Career Recognition¡¯ were presented in the first part of the seminar. A number of issues were raised in the second part, with papers entitled ¡®A Study on Effective Unification Education and Its Future Direction¡¯ and ¡®Analysis of the 2014 Municipal Elections¡¯ being presented.

The meeting was constructive and thought-provoking as legislative researchers from NARS, together with outside experts, explored ways to improve the journal. Based on the meeting¡¯s fruitful results, NARS expects to reinforce its role as a parliamentary research arm.
