
On January 17, 2019, the National Assembly Research Service gave its 2019 policy briefing to the Speaker of the National Assembly.During the briefing, NARS laid out plans for legislative studies on 'constitutional and historical meaning of the 100th anniversary of the Korean Provisional Assembly,' 'reform of election system,' and so forth in order to actively respond to current concerns facing the National Assembly in 2019.In addition, NARS reported on the plans to ensure its scientific and evidence-based legislative research service and to introduce OTT (Over-The-Top) reporting to support the legislative body with advanced research service while systemizing legislative impact assessments and improving the recruitment system to strengthen research capacity.Briefed about the plan, Speaker Moon Hee-sang requested the organization to work on both "maximizing efficiency and preserving democracy in 2019," while commenting that the plan was well established as a more task-driven strategy than outlined in the first briefing.
