Legislative Specialists Headed by Director of the Ministry of Justice of Mongolia Visit NARS

Delegates from Mongolia Headed by Ms. Tumurbaatar Bat-Ulzii, the Director of the Legal Reform Policy Department of the Ministry of Justice, and Ms. Khuyag Nomingerel, the Director of the National Legal Institute, along with nine other delegates, visited NARS.

Dr. Koh Hyun-wook, the Chief of NARS, greeted the delegates and expressed his hope that the meeting would help in the exchange of information and promote greater understanding between Korea and Mongolia. Following Dr. Koh’s remarks, discussions were held on various issues such as legislation impact analysis, hiring process, and legislative research requests.

NARS has formed close ties with Mongolia. In 2010, the NARS and the Parliamentary Secretariat Research Center of Mongolia signed a memorandum of understanding to exchange legislative information, carry out visitation programs, and hold joint seminars. Since then the two institutions have enjoyed a close relationship. Delegates from Mongolia have participated regularly in the International Seminar for Parliamentary Research Services since 2010 and have taken part in the 3rd and 4th International Seminars in 2012 and 2013, respectively. Last year, a delegation Headed by Ms.R.Burmaa, National Assembly member and Chairperson of the Petitions Standing Committee, also visited NARS.

The parties expect this meeting will further consolidate cooperation between the two countries.
